The events forming part of the Gold Coast trail championships comprise
- Numinbah to Pollys 23 April
- Nerang short course 27 May, 24 June, 22 July, 19 August and 16 September
- Nerang 100 miler and shorter events, 30 Sep -1 October
Points will be awarded; 10 for participating, plus 5 for a win down to one for 5th.
These points apply to both males and females. Each winner on the day, male or female will get 10 points for turning out plus 5 points for the win. So, we could see either a male or a female take out the championship points.
Also, the points apply to all events of the day… so at Numinbah for example, the winner (male and female) of the 50 kms gets 10 + 5 = 15 points and the winners of the 33 and 13 kms get the same number of points.
At the end of the season, 10 bonus points will be added for those competing in all 7 events.
Note: in the event of a tie at the end of the season, the winner will be decided on count back, eliminating the shorter events, thus favouring the longer event options.
The three placegetters (could be male or female) will each receive a pair of Altra shoes plus trophy.
Progressive results will be published within 24 hours of the end of each race.
The prizegiving will be held at the conclusion of the Nerang 100 miler on 1 October.
